2024 Book of Lists Unveiling kicks off the new year
More than 450 business professionals filled the Capital Square atrium for the Business Record’s 2024 Book of Lists Unveiling event on January 4 in downtown Des Moines. Published annually in January, the Book of Lists is an essential resource guide for business professionals in central Iowa, with lists of businesses across more than 70 industries, a community calendar, market research, and more.
For the eighth year in a row, the Ivy College of Business was the presenting sponsor for the event. The college is proud to partner with the Business Record for this celebration, bringing together CEOs, business and community leaders, and Iowa State University alumni and friends. Valentina Salotti, associate dean for academic affairs and diversity, and Cy greeted guests during the reception and brief program.
Chris Conetzkey, group publisher at Business Publications Corporation, announced the top five most influential nonprofit organizations and business leaders, as voted on by Business Record readers. ChildServe was voted the Most Influential Nonprofit Organization. Principal Financial Group chairman, president, and CEO Dan Houston (’84 marketing) was voted the Most Influential Business Leader for the sixth year in a row. Houston has served on the Ivy College of Business Dean’s Advisory Council since 2004.
