Winners announced for 2024
Raisbeck Endowed Dean David Spalding is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Ivy Women in Business Awards. Established in 2018, the awards celebrate individuals and organizations for their inspiration, leadership, and service as champions for women in business.
The 2024 honorees are:
- The Champion Award winner is Kari Cooling, senior vice president and managing director for brokerage services at Holmes Murphy, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerages, based in Waukee, Iowa. The Champion Award honors individuals, businesses, or organizations who serve as champions to inspire, lead, and encourage women to reach their full potential.
- This year’s Inspiration Award winner is Nancy Mwirotsi, founder and executive director of the non-profit organization Pi515, based in Des Moines, Iowa. Pi515 is dedicated to empowering underserved teens and refugees by offering free programs to develop essential skills in computer science, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and innovation. The Inspiration Award honors a woman who has made a significant impact in her career while inspiring other women in business to become leaders and reach their full potential.
- The Outstanding Young Alumna Award winner is Brooklyn Treinen-Morris (‘20 supply chain management and marketing), senior strategy development consultant at Principal Financial Group, headquartered in Des Moines. The award honors an Ivy alumna, 35 years of age or younger, who has distinguished herself early in her career for her remarkable achievements.
“Recognizing the achievements and leadership of women in business is an important part of our values at the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business,” said Spalding. “We look forward to celebrating these dynamic, inspiring leaders at the awards ceremony in October.”
