2024 Ivy Women in Business Awards Ceremony

October 2 @ 5:30 pm 7:00 pm CDT

The Ivy College of Business will present the seventh annual Ivy Women in Business Awards at a special ceremony on Wednesday, October 2, at the Iowa State University Alumni Center.

Established in 2018, the awards celebrate women in business, and their champions, and serve as an opportunity to inspire college women as they prepare for a bright future in business. The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 6 p.m.

This event is open to the public with no charge for admission. Seating is limited, so please RSVP using the form below.

The 2024 honorees are:

  • Kari-Cooling

    Women in Business Champion Award

    Kari Cooling
    Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Brokerage Services, Holmes Murphy

    The Champion Award honors a person, business, or organization serving as a champion to inspire, lead, and encourage women to achieve their full potential. Kari’s nominator wrote:

    “Kari personally mentored hundreds of students who were part of the Holmes Murphy Sales Competition. Especially, she emerged as a role model for young women in the program who were cautious about sales as a profession.”

  • Nancy Mwirotsi

    Women in Business Inspiration Award

    Nancy Mwirotsi
    Founder and Executive Director, Pi515

    The Inspiration Award honors a woman who has made a significant impact in her career while inspiring other women in business to become leaders and reach their full potential. Nancy’s nominator wrote:

    “Pi515 changes the trajectory of refugee and underserved youth by teaching technology, entrepreneurship, and professional skills through interactive hands-on programming. Her grit and success as an entrepreneur have given hundreds of young women the opportunity to climb the corporate ladder.”

  • Brooklyn Treinen-Morris

    Outstanding Young Alumna Award

    Brooklyn Treinen-Morris (’20 supply chain management and marketing)
    Senior Strategy Development Consultant, Principal Financial Group

    The Outstanding Young Alumna Award honors an Ivy College of Business alumna, 35 years of age or younger, who has distinguished herself early in her career for remarkable achievements. Brooklyn’s nominator wrote:

    “She’s made an impact in many ways, but one of her most notable accomplishments is the role she played in re-engineering our Women in Leadership Employee Resource Group (ERG). Brooklyn co-led the effort to imagine and create a unified employee resource group. The Global Women’s ERG launched in 2023 and serves as an umbrella and collective group for women, allies, and networks across Principal.”
