Record enrollment at the Ivy College of Business

The Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business has reached record enrollment with 5,197 students, according to the official report from Iowa State University.

“For the first time in our history, we have more than 5,000 students enrolled. I couldn’t be more excited,” said Raisbeck Endowed Dean David Spalding. “Our numbers are up in all areas. This is our largest undergraduate and largest graduate student enrollment in our history. This is evidence that people know and trust the value of a business education at Iowa State.”

With a 7.8 percent increase in enrollment, the Ivy College of Business is the fastest growing college at Iowa State this year.

The college has also experienced record first-year student enrollment in each of the past three years.

The Ivy College of Business is the largest undergraduate business college in Iowa. Under Spalding’s leadership, the college has added several new undergraduate and graduate academic programs, drawing more students to enroll.

Since he was hired in 2013:

  • The number of undergraduate majors increased from nine to 14.
  • The number of master’s degrees increased from four to nine.

Iowa State University continues to see strong enrollment overall with 30,432 students on campus this fall and a class of 5,906 first-year students, which has increased by 16 percent over the past five years.
