The Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University is proud to host the 21st Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium.

The Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium is a forum for faculty members and doctoral students in the information systems and business analytics disciplines to exchange their research ideas and progresses in all stages. It is also a platform for scholars to showcase their on-going research in emerging frontiers, including but not limited to, management issues and applications of artificial intelligence, deep machine-learning and text-mining, data analytics, behavioral economics, technical/analytical work, and interdisciplinary theories.

The symposium provides opportunities to engage with top-ranked scholars in the relevant fields on emerging research topics and learn about how to effectively navigate through a long-term academic career.

Located on Iowa State University’s central campus, the recently renovated Gerdin Business Building is home to the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business.

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center. Please use the booking link below to reserve a room at the symposium rate:

An additional block of rooms is available next door at the Radisson Hotel Ames ($95/night + tax if reserved by March 14, 2025). To reserve a room, please call the hotel directly at (515) 259-1973 and identify yourself as an attendee of the Big XII+ MIS Research Symposium.

Transportation

Iowa State University is located approximately 40 miles north of the Des Moines International Airport. Ground transportation options from the airport include rental carsride sharing companies, and private car service offered by Executive Express ($190 one-way for up to three passengers in a sedan; $223 for up to five passengers in an SUV. Prices include taxes and fees.)

Check-in and a welcome reception will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center. Limited shuttle service will be available between the Gateway Hotel and the Iowa State University campus on Saturday and Sunday.

Symposium attendees may park for free on Saturday and Sunday in Lot 50B and the East Campus Parking Deck, the closest parking lots to the Gerdin Business Building. See walking directions from the parking lots below.
