Ivy College of Business receives four national creative marketing awards

The Ivy College of Business marketing and communications team received four awards in the annual Hermes Creative Awards competition, an international competition for creative professionals. The team also received one honorable mention.

“It’s such an honor to work with this talented group of creative professionals. They are experts in their fields,” said Michele Appelgate, director of marketing and communications. “What we do all year long for the college truly is teamwork. Not only do we collaborate as a marketing team, but we also work in tandem with more than 300 professionals across all college departments to showcase the programs and successes we have at Ivy.”

Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, and freelance professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges, and rewards outstanding achievements and service to the profession.

Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were over 6,500 entries throughout the United States, Canada, and over 24 other countries. The judges evaluate the creative industry’s best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, advertising, marketing, and communication programs each year. Winners were selected in over 200 categories.

The Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. Platinum winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. About 17 percent won this award.

The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Approximately 22 percent of entries were honored with a Gold Award.

Honorable Mention certificates are granted to those entries that meet the expectations of the judges. Approximately 11 percent of entries were recognized with an Honorable Mention.

The college’s marketing and communications team includes Michele Appelgate, director of marketing and communications; Emily Bowman, graphic designer; Suzanne Lyndon, event planner; Cindy Robertson, web manager; Spencer Feinberg, social media coordinator; and Ashley Jensen, Aiden Yauchler, and Lilly Wyatt, marketing interns.
