Four final candidates identified

Four finalists have been identified in the search for the next Raisbeck Endowed Dean of the Ivy College of Business. The successful candidate will succeed David Spalding, who will retire from the position this summer.

The finalists’ visits are scheduled for the following dates:

The names of candidates will be made public one business day before their visit. Each will meet with students, faculty, and staff, and hold an open forum on the first day of their visit. The forums will be held at 2 p.m. in the Gerdin Business Building’s Kingland Commons on the following schedule:

Recordings of the open forums will be made available on the Provost’s Office search page after all finalist visits have been completed.

The Business dean search committee is co-chaired by Dan Grooms, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine; and Ann Marie VanDerZanden, associate provost for academic programs. Search committee members.

  • Charles Pierce: first finalist for Iowa State University’s next business dean

    Charles PierceCharles (Chuck) Pierce, dean of the Oakland University School of Business Administration and professor of human resources management, is the first finalist in the search for Iowa State University’s next Raisbeck Endowed Dean of the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business.

    He will visit campus March 24-25.

    Pierce will meet with Ivy students, faculty, and staff during his visit. He will also hold an open forum on Monday, March 24, at 2:00 p.m., in the Gerdin Business Building’s Kingland Hub.

    Pierce earned a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and master’s and PhD from the State University of New York at Albany, all in psychology. He has served in his current role since 2022. Prior positions include appointments at the University of Memphis and Montana State University.

  • Raj Agnihotri named second finalist for Iowa State University’s next business dean

    Raj AgnihotriRaj Agnihotri, Morrill Professor of marketing and assistant dean for industry engagement in Iowa State University’s Ivy College of Business, is the second finalist in the search for its next Raisbeck Endowed Dean of the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business. He will visit campus March 31 – April 1.

    Agnihotri will meet with Ivy students, faculty, and staff during his visit. He will also hold an open forum on Monday, March 31, at 2:00 p.m., in the Gerdin Business Building’s Kingland Hub.

    Agnihotri earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Pune in India, an MBA in management from Oklahoma City University, and a Ph.D. in marketing from Kent State University. He has served at Iowa State since 2018, and in his current role as assistant dean since 2024. Prior positions include appointments at the University of Texas-Arlington and Ohio University.
