Meet the Marshals

Students recognized with leadership roles at fall graduation celebrations

Iowa State University’s fall 2024 graduation celebrations will draw thousands of people to Hilton Coliseum on December 20 and 21. Every semester, seven students are selected by Ivy faculty to be student marshals for their respective departments and lead their fellow graduates across the stage at the Ivy College of Business convocation ceremony. An eighth student is selected to serve as the Ivy student marshal at the university’s undergraduate commencement ceremony.

The Ivy College of Business is pleased to announce the fall 2024 student marshals for the college convocation ceremony on December 20 and the university’s undergraduate commencement ceremony on December 21.

  • Nicholas Engle

    Nicholas Engle

    Nicholas Engle, from Dixon, Illinois, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Accounting. Engle is graduating with a bachelor of science in accounting and management information systems, summa cum laude. He has accepted a position with PwC as a tax associate in Chicago, Illinois.

    Tori Galles

    Tori Galles, from Remsen, Iowa, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Supply Chain Management. Galles is graduating with a bachelor of science in supply chain management, magna cum laude. She has accepted a position as a development associate with Conagra Brands in Omaha, Nebraska.

  • Olivia Heindel

    Olivia Heindel

    Olivia Heindel, from Ames, Iowa, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Marketing. Heindel is graduating with a bachelor of science in marketing, summa cum laude, and a minor in business and technology consulting. She is also a graduate of the University Honors Program. Heindel plans to travel internationally for six months before starting her full-time job.

    Joseph Herst, from Ankeny, Iowa, is graduating with a master of business administration and will serve as the MBA student marshal. He plans to continue supporting local nonprofits and community organizations.

  • Brittany Johnson

    Brittany Johnson

    Brittany Johnson, from Remsen, Iowa, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics. Johnson is graduating with a bachelor of science in management information systems and supply chain management, magna cum laude. After graduation, she will join Interstates in a data analyst role.

    Blake Kroth

    Blake Kroth, from Rosemount, Minnesota, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. Kroth is graduating with a bachelor of science in management and a professional sales certificate. After graduation, he will move to Nashville, Tennessee, to work for Amazon in fulfillment and operations.

  • Travis Vander Heiden

    Travis Vander Heiden

    Travis Vander Heiden, from Winterset, Iowa, will serve as student marshal for the Department of Finance. Vander Heiden is graduating with a bachelor of science in finance, summa cum laude. He has accepted a position as an assistant examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri.

  • Emily Matulac

    Emily Matulac

    Emily Matulac, from Ames, Iowa, will serve as the Ivy College of Business student marshal at Iowa State’s undergraduate commencement ceremony on December 21. Matulac is graduating summa cum laude with two degrees: a bachelor of science in finance and a bachelor of science in management. She has accepted a position with Principal in the company’s financial analyst rotation program.
